Spanish Lab and Learning Center

The Spanish Lab and Learning Center is a Spanish immersion educational facility and childcare center. The existing building had holding cells and thick concrete walls and ceilings. Most existing spaces were cold and dark. Our goal was to open up the spaces to create a fun, warm, and welcoming learning environment. Working with Nesselrodt Construction, we removed existing concrete elements that closed off spaces and introduced natural light. The classrooms are now warm, light-filled spaces with large windows. There are dedicated entrances for both the learning center and the daycare. We added a fenced in space for outdoor play and adapted an existing garage into a usable learning space / indoor play space. This renovation project was completed in part using American Rescue Plan Act funds with guidance from the Shenandoah Valley Small Business Development Center.
