This Harrisonburg Farmhouse brings sustainability to the traditional farmhouse aesthetic. Our clients had a goal of creating a lifetime home just outside of the Harrisonburg city limits. The views are stunning from their land and they needed help planning the right solution. We were able to meet at the site and orient the house with the clients just right to capture the desired views connecting the inside of the home to the outside. This is a great example of a custom design with each space being carefully thought through for not only the way the family lives now, but how they want to live in the future. An open floorplan, large family room, a dedicated mud room with storage for all the “stuff” of daily life allow for function to inform the size and shape of the farmhouse. The large windows open the living spaces into the outside while the deck and large front porch provide plenty of gathering space for nice weather days.
