Welcome Audrey Smith to the Team!

We are excited to welcome Audrey H. Smith to our team as our new Office Manager. Audrey joined us in November 2024 while she continues to build and run AU Events, her event management company based out of Harrisonburg.

Audrey Smith

Audrey is from the valley, a Turner Ashby grad with a BA in English from James Madison University. As our new office manager, Audrey says “I tend to wear many hats and catch a lot of the daily administrative tasks. On any given day, I can work on anywhere from office administration (checking the mail, greeting clients, answering the phone, etc.), planning events, managing our website and blog, to dabbling in bookkeeping and human resources, managing the marketing and social media, and even offering minor tech support and executive assistance to the partners.

In her free time, you’ll find Audrey spending time with her husband and three year old son, Raiden, her two cats, Cali and Buster, and even crocheting new baby gifts.

When reflecting on her career choice as a child, Audrey said “I had wanted to be a teacher for my entire childhood, from maybe age 6-7 until around age 20. At that point, I realized I had a different skill set and that it was ok to go in another direction.” After studying classical music in college, majoring in clarinet, she fell backwards into the administrative world and has enjoyed developing her passion for event management, operational effectiveness, and executive support.

As her son gets older, she hopes to continue to instill a sense of adventure in him, having already taken him to Italy, Spain, and Germany, and next on the list is Tanzania, both for the wildlife as well as the culture. She says “I hope to stay at an elephant sanctuary and experience safaris while engaging with and learning from the locals.”

We’re excited to have Audrey join our team!
