38. Old Ranch Road Barn #105architectural inspirations
I love barn architecture and the idea of converting one into a house is very appealing. However, it could be easier just to build a house using the style of a barn so you can get a high performance and functional solution.
Highland Group Architects did just that with their Old Ranch Road project. This incredible home keeps with the authentic aesthetics of a barn, while providing luxury at every turn. I especially love how they used the silo as a special gathering space inside.
Exposed wood and rustic floors give the interior an authentic look of a classic barn. The open floorplan provides plenty of space for entertainment and family gatherings. The wood beams give character and provide dimension. The open loft space keeps the interior true to the overall spatial solution.
#105architecturalinspirations is a collection of architectural details, buildings, and spaces that inspire me. I am taking on the challenge of finding two projects to spotlight each week in 2015. Hopefully I will be able to keep up and this process of discovery will push me to create better design solutions for my clients as I research and learn more about those projects I enjoy most. I challenge you to add your comments below about this project and to post your own inspirations for all to enjoy. Full List of previous #105architecturalinspiration posts 1 – 20.
